DONATE NEW SHOES FOR LOCAL FOSTER CHILDREN

Citrus Heights, California— For nearly 80,000 California foster children, each day presents new challenges. Many are relocated several times and must repeatedly struggle to catch up in a new school. Others face birthdays and holidays away from friends, siblings and familiar faces. While some must consider how to face winter without a warm coat or shoes that fit their growing feet. 

Sleep Train has founded Sleep Train Foster Kids to help provide the necessities, resources and little extras that offer foster kids some of the things they’re missing - including a happier childhood.  Now through May 18^th Sleep Train will be collecting new shoes at their 70 retail locations, which will be distributed to local Foster Kids agency partners.  A gift of new shoes is a small but important step toward helping California foster kids.  No two foster children walk the same path in life, but many share an uphill climb to get new shoes to replace the ones that become too small or worn out.  Foster kids range in ages, from teenagers to infants, so new shoes big and small are needed.  Sleep Train is reaching out to their local communities for their support of the program’s ongoing campaigns.  The New Shoe drive is the first among five other drives Sleep Train will be hosting this year.
