J.P. Sunday 3pm - 7pm
My first job:
16 years old, cooking fries at Jack in the Box.
My first radio job:
Taking requests at the World Famous KROQ 106.7 FM in Los Angeles
The most embarrassing thing I have done on the air:
I fell asleep on the air during the overnight shift at KROQ. The cool thing is that I still kept my job and the mishap even landed me a role as a guest on the Kevin and Bean morning show!
The thing I like most about my listeners:
I Love the requests, keep them coming.
My dream job would be:
Having a nationally syndicated radio/TV show. (Think Howard Stern, but cooler and less trashy)
The one job you won't ever catch me doing:
Anything that involves heights, yikes!
My parents most wanted me to become:
My parents really didn’t pressure me much about a career path, I guess they just had faith that I would land on my feet!
I got into radio because:
All the voices in my head kept telling me to do so. Thank you voices!
My first concert:
Jimmy Buffet at what used to be Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavilion, Big ups to all you Parrot Heads!
But the most memorable concert I went to was:
The Beastie Boys at the Great Western Forum, it was the one and only time I ever called a radio station to win tickets and I won the first time I called. (I still owe you one Manuel)
My favorite bands are:
The Fray, Sublime, Linkin Park, The Beastie Boys, Uncle Kracker, Madina Lake, 15 North, Jupiter…
My favorite books are:
I love to read Playboy for the articles, for real, I do! On the other end of the spectrum, I love the Harry Potter series, and the last book I finished from cover to cover was Angels and Demons.
If I was an animal instead of human I would most likely be a:
I would be a dragon, or a tiger, mainly because those are my son’s favorite animals and I have gotten real good at making those sound effects!
The single most embarrassing moment in my life was when:
Hmmmmm, anyone remember the Party Bus to Valley View casino last Christmas? Yea that was fun!
When life hands me lemons I tend to:
Cut them up and put em in my hefeweizen!
If I ended up on a deserted island and I could only take 3 things with me they would be:
A generator, a TV/DVD Player and a copy of Gilligan’s Island: The Rescue Movie!
My favorite saying is:
It’s not about how far we’ve come, it’s all about how far you get!
